Track & Field Comments and Pictures, 2023

This section will be divided into a number of pages as the Winter/Indoor Track season progresses:

I. Page I marks the beginning of the Winter Season and includes comments on and (when practical) pictures from the Early Winter Season, December, 2022 through late January, 2023, with most meets at the Bennett Center in Toms River, the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island, NY, and at Cherokee High School. II. Page II marks Mid-Winter in the schedule and includes comments on and (when practical) pictures from the Mid-Winter Season, late January, 2023 through mid-February, 2023, with most meets continuing at the Bennett Center in Toms River, the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island, NY, and at Cherokee High School. GO CHIEFS!

III. Page III marks Late-Winter in the schedule and includes comments on and (when practical) pictures from the Late-Winter Season, mid-February, 2023 through late February, 2023, with most meets continuing (including the State Championships) at the Bennett Center in Toms River; at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island, NY,; at Cherokee High School, and an outdoor Scrimmage at Haddonfield High School. IV. Page IV marks the beginning of the Spring schedule and includes comments on and (when practical) pictures from the Pre-Season and Early Spring Season, March 7th, 2023 through Mid-April, 2023, including a Relay Meet at Lenape High School (Apr 8th); followed by a distance invitational, "The Night of 3200's," at Cherokee H.S. (Apr 14th). GO CHIEFS!

Page V marks the continuation of the Spring schedule and includes comments on and (when practical) pictures from the Early Spring Season, Mid-April, 2023 through the beginning of May, 2023, including an open all-comers event, "Fast Times at Cherokee High School," (Apr 15th); a Dual Meet against Lenape H.S. at Cherokee H.S. (Apr 19th); a Throwers Meet, "Lenape Field Day," at Lenape H.S. (April 21st); the Bishop Eustace Frosh/Novice Meet at Eustace (April 21st); the Blue Devil Classic at Westfield H.S. (April 22nd); a Dual Meet against Cherry Hill H.S. East at Cherokee (April 24th); the Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia (April 27th and 28th); and a Dual Meet against Rancocas Valley H.S. at Rancocas Valley (May 1st). GO CHIEFS!

(May 13th); the "Royal Rumble" at Holmdel (May 17th); the Haddonfield Distance Invitational at Haddonfield (May 22nd); the Olympic Conference Championships at Rancocas Valley Regional H.S. (May 23rd); the Delsea Crusader Field Meet at Delsea H.S. (May 24th); and The Final Countdown: Last Chance Invitational at Cherokee (May 25th). GO CHIEFS!

VII. Page VII marks the further continuation of the Spring schedule until the end, and includes comments on and (when practical) pictures from the Late-Spring Season, the beginning of May, 2023 through to early June, 2023, including the SJ Sectional Championships at Pennsauken H.S (Jun 2nd - 3rd); the NJ State Group Championships at Franklin H.S. (Jun 9th - 10th); and the NJ State Meet of Champions at Franklin H.S. (Wed, Jun 14th)! (One extra opportunity is available for distance runners who do not advance to State Groups: on Tuesday, Jun 6th, Cherokee will host Night Racer # 2, the absolute last possible time this Spring when an athlete can clock an 800m, 1600m or SSMR PR at a local venue!).
